Buenos Aires

 (island of magic). Nearly 500 miles south of Rio de Janeiro and linked to the mainland with bridges, Floripa boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil. The island is also home to a subtropical rainforest crisscrossed by hiking trails and dotted with sparking waterfall-fed swimming holes.

Montevideo

Uruguay's laidback, welcoming capital city gets touted as "South America's best-kept secret" for a reason.
