Apache Geode

Apache Geode is an in-memory real-time data management platform. The technology provides a low-latency, high-throughput environment for transactional and analytical processing of big data. With built-in features like partitioning, replication, native persistence, and event notifications, Apache Geode can be used to enhance existing applications or create new ones in various domains such as finance (real-time fraud detection), telecommunications (network monitoring) and e-commerce (personalized recommendation engines). Originally developed at GemStone Systems Inc., the platform was known as GemFire before being open-sourced by VMware. Today it's managed by the Apache Software Foundation under the project name "Geode.
