Jade Engine

The Jade Engine, created by Ubisoft, was first used in the action-adventure game Beyond Good & Evil in 2003. It is known for its advanced animation system that makes characters move realistically and express emotions. The engine has evolved over time and powered several successful games, including the Prince of Persia series and some installments of the Rayman franchise. In addition to improving character animations, subsequent versions of the Jade Engine have enhanced lighting effects, physics interactions with objects in the environment, and overall graphical fidelity. However, Ubisoft eventually transitioned away from using this engine as it moved towards more modern development tools capable of handling larger open-world games with greater complexity in gameplay mechanics and world interactivity.
