Net.Data was a server-side scripting technology for IBM's WebSphere Application Server. The language combines traditional HTML tags and commands with embedded SQL, transforming standard web pages into dynamic database-driven applications. Net.Data let developers create interactive sites that could access data from different sources, including relational databases and non-SQL enterprise information systems on IBM mainframes or AS/400s. It has been largely superseded by other technologies in the realm of software development but continues to be used in legacy environments where it provides an effective means of integrating web interfaces with backend systems.
