POSXML is a markup language for point-of-sale (POS) systems. It’s designed to make it easier for developers to customize and integrate different types of hardware peripherals, such as printers, scanners, and customer displays within POS environments. POSXML allows merchants or system integrators to create custom receipt templates that can be printed on various printers using the same commands. The language operates similarly across different devices by abstracting underlying hardware-specific communication protocols into an XML document exchange format that can be interpreted by compatible equipment connected with the POS terminal.
