Quartz Composer

Quartz Composer is a node-based visual programming language for processing and 2D rendering. It was developed by Apple Inc., first released with Mac OS X Tiger in 2005. The language operates through graphical user interface that allows users to connect various types of data inputs (called patches) to create complex effects, interactive interfaces or other visual content. The language mainly focuses on creating image and video processing compositions. Compositions can be used in real-time, making Quartz Composer especially popular among VJs, artists working with interactive installations, and developers for producing eye-catching UI effects in applications or web development. However, as of MacOS Mojave (10.14), Apple officially deprecated the software from future updates and removed it from their websites due to changes made with Metal framework no longer supporting such OpenGL implementations like those created within Quartz Composer.
