Visual Foxpro

Visual FoxPro is a discontinued Microsoft data-centric object-oriented programming language for database management. It was derived from FoxPro, which was originally created by Fox Software and later acquired by Microsoft to be incorporated into its suite of enterprise-level software tools. Visual FoxPro's core feature was its ability to create and manage large databases through its graphical user interface (GUI). It also included a built-in query analyzer, report generator, and tools for creating web applications. The language used dynamic typing where variables can hold any type of data, which simplified syntax but increased the risk of runtime errors due to mismatches in variable types. The last edition released by Microsoft was Visual FoxPro 9 in 2007 but despite being officially unsupported the tool still has a cult following that kept it alive post-discontinuation.
