Microsoft WordBASIC is a subset of the BASIC programming language that was included in some versions of Microsoft Word for DOS and Windows. It provided users with the ability to automate tasks within Word, such as creating macros to perform repetitive functions or customize their documents. The interface offered by WordBASIC enabled users with little or no programming experience to write scripts by recording their actions within Word and then modifying the generated code as needed. However, its usage declined significantly over time as Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) became the standard macro language in later iterations of Microsoft Office products.
