Ansys Parametric Design Language

APDL is the scripting language used to automate tasks within ANSYS, a finite element analysis software package for engineering simulations. The language allows users to create complex, customizable macros and procedures that can be executed in a sequential or batch mode. By providing direct access to the core functionality of ANSYS, APDL enables engineers to perform parametric studies — varying geometry, material properties, loads and boundary conditions — without manual intervention by setting up commands in an organized manner. This facilitates optimization studies and sensitivity analyses by systematically modifying input parameters and examining their impact on the model's behavioral response.
