BEFLIX is a programming language used to manipulate and transform images. The language was created by Brinch Hansen in the mid 1960s at the Norwegian Computing Center, inspired by Fortran. BEFLIX is known for its simplicity and capability to perform complex tasks in few lines of code, being designed around mathematical formulae that generate graphics. BEFLIX uses array manipulation and arithmetic operations as its main tools for image processing, making it easy to learn but less practical for general-purpose computing compared with languages such as C or Python today.
