Irrlicht Engine

The Irrlicht Engine is an open-source 3D graphics rendering and game development engine. This C++-based platform can be used to create real-time graphic applications ranging from simple interactive demos to full-fledged video games. The engine supports a range of features, such as realistic effects (e.g., shadows, particle systems), collision detection, as well as integration with other libraries. Initially released in 2002 by Nikolaus Gebhardt, the engine has gained a following within the community of indie developers and hobbyists due to its simplicity and approachable learning curve without sacrificing too many technical capabilities.
