NetRexx is an object-oriented programming language designed to run on a Java virtual machine and exploit the advantages of both Java and Rexx. It was developed by IBM as an open standard with no licensing fees or restrictions, allowing it to be used freely across platforms. NetRexx syntax encourages clear, structured code while also allowing for direct manipulation of Java objects when necessary. Its ease of use makes it particularly valuable in educational settings, rapid application development environments, and scenarios where engineers must work closely with preexisting systems written in other languages such as COBOL or PL/I.
