Lasso is a dynamically typed programming language and software application server used to develop interactive web applications. The language was designed by Sean Stephens in 1996 and follows a syntax similar to ActionScript, but offers more advanced features such as built-in database connectivity and an object-oriented approach. Lasso supports multiple platforms, including macOS, Linux, and Windows servers running Apache or IIS. It integrates well with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database through its native drivers. Lasso comes bundled with a set of APIs that allow it to interact with other technologies extensively used on the web server-side side such as XML parsing libraries and built-in security mechanisms for preventing unauthorized access or attacks on data within applications being developed using it's framework
