Sophos Sandstorm

Sophos Sandstorm is an advanced next-gen threat protection feature for Sophos firewalls. Using cloud-based technology, it supplements traditional anti-virus solutions by analyzing suspicious files in a secure, isolated environment called a sandbox. This additional layer of security lets the software detect and block sophisticated threats such as zero-day malware, targeted attacks, and ransomware that may pass through other security measures undetected. Once the suspicious file is executed within the virtual sandbox environment, Sophos Sandstorm observes its behavior to determine whether it poses a threat to the network or endpoints. If malicious intent is found, Sandstorm blocks the file from entering the network and communicates back to other parts of the system for necessary responses.
